If Ponsonby had a new hotspot, this is how I’d brand it.
One of my favorite ways to get my creative juices flowing is through passion projects.
Last year, I became fixated on bar, restaurant, and cafe branding, so I decided to dream up my own concept for a bar and restaurant in Ponsonby.
I imagined a place where good food, great cocktails, and even better vibes come together, all wrapped in a visual identity inspired by modern 70s design. Think bold colors, playful typography, and hand drawn illustrations that feel warm, nostalgic, and full of personality!!!
The interior concept? Bold yellows, reds, and blues, with a modern twist of silk, terrazzo, and that carefree 70s poolside party feel.
This project was all about pushing my creative boundaries and exploring how branding can capture the spirit of a space before it even exists. From the logo and menus to coasters and signage, every detail was designed to tell a story and invite people in.
Passion projects like this keep me inspired and remind me why I love design, to create experiences that feel unique, memorable, and a little bit unexpected.
If you’re in Ponsonby (or just love a good design story), I’d love to hear what you think!
